Keanu Reeves is never without a project. After being slated to be a space cowboy and a Japanese warrior this year and the next, his next movie is to play Terri Schiavo. It is going to be a biopic and it's one hell of a drama.
There's just one thing I can't comprehend about it - Terri is a woman. Why should a man play her? Not that Keanu Reeves can't play a bisexual. He's done that before. The thing is, Terri is a straight woman. Her life story can't be played by a man - unless it is written in a different way.
Even so, Keanu is very into the job and says it's the one he's been waiting for all his acting life. He was regarded to be a rather emotionless actor in the entire span of his career. He feels the can get some sort of a recognition or at least a movie critic's approval with this one.
Terri Schiavo is the woman who has had 12 years of battle against euthanasia. For that long span of time, she's brain-dead as declared by the doctor. So in the whole film, Keanu will be playing an emotionless person on a coma - very much like him, as a lot of people may think. Keanu says all the acting he'll do, if the project pushes through, is facial expressions. Maybe that's why producers think of him as the best man or woman for the job?
