Keanu Reeves' Co-stars in Cowboy Bebop Still Unnamed

Keanu Reeves Cowboy BebopKeanu Reeves is now officially confirmed for Cowboy Bepop. What started as an offer had materialized into a full swing pre-production, as Keanu was so keen about the part. He even went out of his way to go to Japan and talk to the show's original producers and creators.

With Keanu to play Spike Spiegel, rumors are going on as to which other actors will get which part. However, many anime fans are not too happy with Keanu Reeves taking the helm, saying that Spike Spiegel is not your ordinary anime character. He's got spunk and substance - something Keanu would have to whip into the role from nothing.

With that said, maybe it's high time that we see serious acting from Keanu? Let's see if he can give justice to the Spike Spiegel role to the delight of true-blue anime fans.

Keanu Went to Japan for Cowboy Bepop

Keanu Reeves in Cowboy BebopKeanu really likes this role. And he's keen about pursuing it. If you notice, Hollywood stars are not much interested in making anime or Japanese-inspired games flick. Look at Street Fighters and Dragonball. The movie adaptation is great but there's an absence of a real force behind it - a famous Hollywood actor.

This trend is going to change with Cowboy Bebop. Cowboy Bebop is a true-blue Japanese anime. In fact, it is the second best Jap anime series the world had seen, based on surveys. Now Keanu has signed in to make it. And movie critics can just sit back, predict the outcome, and just see how things go.

Cowboy Bebop is a cult anime series. It may have a good set of followers - but they were all anime addicts anyway. It is now on Keanu's hands to bring anime to the mainstream. If he can do it, now that's history. Maybe bigger name stars would compete with anime roles hence?

Only Keanu Reeves can Get Away with This

Keanu Reeves Homeless lookWhen it comes to sporting a homeless, shabby look, nobody can ever beat Keanu Reeves - not even another heart throb like Brad Pitt. It's not that it looks good on the man. He is just so fond of his ugly man look that he makes it a habit to grow his mustache and beard long, with his hair disheveled whenever it's the off season. Off season would mean that the actor is in between movie shoots.

But is it good on him? For starters, Keanu Reeves is a man. Maybe he's not as vain as the rest of the Hollywood citizens are. But then, he's got an image and probably a career to protect.

But then, Keanu isn't fond of the paparazzi either. So he's not into looking good in front of them whenever he's out doing his personal things. Good for them, bad for Keanu. Or is it the other way around?

You see, fans and the rest of the Hollywood and celebrity followers are getting used with Keanu's dirty do. He might look like a hobo. But he's still the same actor we love. And he can turn into a handsome bachelor after a trip to the barber's shop which is what really matters to most of us.

Keanu's Next Job: To Play as Terri Schiavo

Keanu Reeves Terri SchiavoKeanu Reeves is never without a project. After being slated to be a space cowboy and a Japanese warrior this year and the next, his next movie is to play Terri Schiavo. It is going to be a biopic and it's one hell of a drama.

There's just one thing I can't comprehend about it - Terri is a woman. Why should a man play her? Not that Keanu Reeves can't play a bisexual. He's done that before. The thing is, Terri is a straight woman. Her life story can't be played by a man - unless it is written in a different way.

Even so, Keanu is very into the job and says it's the one he's been waiting for all his acting life. He was regarded to be a rather emotionless actor in the entire span of his career. He feels the can get some sort of a recognition or at least a movie critic's approval with this one.

Terri Schiavo is the woman who has had 12 years of battle against euthanasia. For that long span of time, she's brain-dead as declared by the doctor. So in the whole film, Keanu will be playing an emotionless person on a coma - very much like him, as a lot of people may think. Keanu says all the acting he'll do, if the project pushes through, is facial expressions. Maybe that's why producers think of him as the best man or woman for the job?

Keanu Reeves Didn't Win the Razzie Award

Keanu Reeves RazziesThe buzz was so intense about Keanu Reeves being nominated in the Golden Raspberry awards. Unlike at the Oscars where every actor wants to be nominated and win, the Razzie is its antithesis. It honors the worst of the worst in Hollywood Cinema. And to make things spicier, the awards were dished out the night before the Oscars.

The Razzie for worst actor didn't go to Keanu Reeves, thank God. Instead, it was given to Mike Myers, for his film, The Love Guru. It was Paris Hilton who got the award for worst actress. Better luck next time for Keanu Reeves? I certainly hope not.
