It's been about three weeks and still, critics are dishing out their what could have been's and should have been's with the recent Keanu Reeves flick, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Apparently, they all want Keanu to win an acting award, as they all point to his so-called unemotional acting for the film.
Alien or not, critics want a more passionate performance from this heart throb, who despite his acting shortcomings is still very much around and very bankable indeed. No big film outfit like 20th Century Fox would have trusted him this multi-million production if it wasn't for his mass market pull and charms.
The Day the Earth Stood Still ranked several million dollars during its first week of screening. It topped the charts during its opening week, making it a certified box office on its own right, despite what other film critics say.
Right now, Keanu Reeves is focused on the pre-production of Cowboy Bepop, which will be his next film after The Private Lives of Pippa Lee hits the screens on 2009.
