The Day the Earth Stood Still Challenge: How to Make the Audience Gasp

The Day the Earth Stood StillIn the early 1950's, UFO's are associated to flying saucers and green aliens. This time around, the outer space had evolved so much that people can practically go to the moon without leaving their seats. All they have to do is to watch a good outer space movie like Armageddon.

With the over dose of science fiction films played on the big screen in the last fifty years, the challenge is bigger for the set crew and designers of The Day The Earth Stood Still. They have to make something viewers haven't seen yet. And that's quite a big challenge for them.

But the thing is, these genius people had come up to it. They said that they could make their audience gasp in horror while watching the film. This is something every Keanu Reeves fan should wait and see.

The Day The Earth Stood Still: Klaatu Reigns

Klaatu is the alien in the 1951 film, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Now, he's back from the past to give the same message to humans: Stop destroying the Earth or I'll gladly do that for you.

Such a timely message, with all the wars and environmental ruckus the world is experiencing in the present time. Every one should watch this film - if only to realize the truth behind the facade. Small people or big ones, everybody has a responsibility to assume. Klaatu is certainly serious about his stance.

The Rough and Ready Keanu Reeves Loves to Read Books Too

Keanu ReevesWell, it's true. Who would have thought that the dirt-biking Keanu Reeves has a flair for literature and good books? For his interview with Detail, Keanu Reeves and the interviewer happened to be in a bookstore doing the question and answer thing. And since they see books everywhere, Keanu was asked what books he had read.

Keanu admitted that he had read the four novels of the Rabbit series of John Updike. When the interviewer asked him about Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates, Keanu's eyes lit up and said "Yes". He even challenged the interviewer for a "high five on the Revolutionary Road". Apparently, they did.

The biggest revelation is this: Keanu Reeves had read "Remembrance of the Things Past" by Marcel Proust. The novel is a semi-autobiography of this French author which spanned 7 volumes. It's original French title is À la recherche du temps perdu. Kean u said it took him 2 years to finish that one.

The interview could have been for Keanu Reeves' new movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Keanu Reeves Gearing up for The Day

Keanu ReevesNow that Keanu's legal fiasco is out of the day, he's more than ready to promote his new movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still. The movie is about an alien landing on Earth and warning earthlings of imminent danger.

The movie is actually a remake of the 1951 film of the same title. However, expect a lot of revisions to the script and changes to Keanu's character. The movie is more of a modern science fiction movie as expected. There would also be sub plots in the story and emphasis was given to Dr. Benson, Jennifer Connely's character. Klaatu, who is played by Keanu Reeves, is more sinister in this film. In the original, Klaatu is a rather meek and humble alien out to save the Earth.

Keanu Reeves Says He's Lucky

Things are definitely looking up for Keanu Reeves. With his lawsuit against paparrazi Alison Silva ending in his favor and two movies coming up (The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee), Keanu Reeves can definitely say that he's on top of the world.

A lot of people says that Keanu Reeves can't act. It's probably true. But the fact that he's still in circulation and one of the favorite leading men and characters of most films, Keanu is really lucky despite his deemed lack of acting ability. Either way, we still love Keanu Reeves from here.

Keanu Reeves Wins Case

Keanu Reeves can breathe well now. The jury came back after a three-hour deliberation in his favor. The case of assault was previously junked and now, the jury declared that Keanu Reeves is not liable to pay a single centavo to the Brazilian paparazzo Alison Silva, who accused him of injuring him with his Porche.

The jury had clearly seen that Silva is using the incident to promote his interests and not really bring forth fair justice. With the court case behind him, Keanu Reeves can focus on his movie projects, such as the imminent showing of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee", which is still in production.

Keanu Reeves Testified in Court

The LA courts are seeing much of Keanu Reeves these days. Unfortunately, he wasn't playing a role here. It's a true to life experience that he wished he didn't have to go through.

Keanu Reeves is accused of assault by plaintiff Alison Silva, a paparazzo who is also involved in a mess with Britney Spears. Silva said Keanu Reeves purposely backed up his car on him, hitting him in the process.

Of course, Keanu denied that saying that he didn't hit Silva and he stumbled on his own feet as he tries to move away from his vehicle. Keanu further states that "My intention was to show I had the right of way."

"He was coming up to me as a paparazzo taking my picture," Reeves said. "To me, it wasn't great that he was there."

"To my recollection, I didn't hit him," Reeves told a Superior Court jury.

The Keanu Reeves Assault Case : Jurors Deliberating

After the hearing last Friday, the jurors were out deliberating the assault case as filed by paparazzo Alison Silva. But before that, the lawyers of Keanu Reeves showed them a video of the plaintiff climbing the walls as he tries to photograph Britney. This is in defense to Silva's claim that he wasn't able to go to work for six months after his encounter with Keanu Reeves.

Keanu Reeves maintained his position that he didn't knock down Silva with his Porsche as he claims. In fact, he even helped him and called 911 when he saw him stumbling from the back of his car as he was trying to pull out the parking lot. Keanu Reeves overheard Silva saying it was an accident. It was said that Silva stumbled on his own two feet as he was trying to clear away from Keanu's backing car.
